    ❤ Introduce My Self

Hallo, my name is Firyal Humairah, i am here to explain about "Use of Some, Any, Much, Many, A lot of, and A few" . The use of this words is often used in sentence phrases in english texts and is also used in daily conversations. These words have the same meaning but the use of each word in the sentence is different because it has different functions. Therefore to be able to understand from each of these words I will give a more detailed explanation of the this word.

Use of Some, Any, Much, Many, A lot of, and A few

a. Some and Any

The general rule is that any is used for questions and negatives while some is used for positive. Some may also be used for questions, typically offers and requests, if we think the answer will be positive.

Some ex:    - I have some friends to be visited next week.
                                 -  She borrowed some books at library.

Any ex:       - Do you have any ideas to solve this problem?
                               -   Sorry, I don’t have any ideas how to solve that problem.

b. Much, Many, and A lot of

These work in the same way as some and any. Much may only be used with uncountable nouns while many is used with countable.

1. Much

Much means "a lot". Much is used for unrecognized nouns, such as oil, water, bread, and other things that we can not count

Much ex:        - We need much money to do this project.
                                   -  Do you need much sugar on your coffee?

     2. Many

Many means "many". Many are used for countable nouns such as books, cars, and homes.

Many ex:       -  How many people in this classroom?
                                  -  Many people asked me how to do that course.
                              -  We have many books.

      3. A lot of

A lot of means also "many". A lot of is used for countable or uncountable nouns, so water and car can use a lot of.

A lot of ex:     -   I have a lot of foods for you.
                                 -   How much money do you have? I have a lot of money.
                             -   She has visited a lot of places.

c. A few

The determiner a few means essentially the same thing as a little, except it can only be used with countable nouns. So whenever you’re dealing with nouns that have plural form, make sure to use a few.

Ex:              - I met a few friends in that reunion
                          -  I have a few pairs of shoes.
                          -  There are a few students.
                         -  I have a few opportunities.
